Step 1 · Where is your lock now?

Set these wheels to what your lock shows

No need to turn it to 000 first: the search starts from right here, one click at a time.

    How it works

    One click at a time

Counting 000, 001, 002 makes you turn two or three wheels at once every ten tries, and that’s where codes get skipped. This page goes in snake order instead: 000, 001 … 009, then 019, 018 … 010. Every step moves just one wheel by one click.

    Start where it is

Set the wheels on the page to whatever your lock shows now and start from there. There’s no need to turn everything back to 000 first.

    Nothing tried twice

Every code you mark as “didn’t open” is crossed off on the grid. Close the tab and come back tomorrow: your place is kept in this browser, and nothing is uploaded.

    Guesses first

Think it might be a birthday, 1234 or an old code? Add it as a guess. Guesses are tried before the full search, and crossed off so the search skips them later.

The estimate on the page learns your own pace as you go. Before a long search, read the tips: many locks have a quicker way out.
